Utahns like the pizza, salad and flatbreads at Vinto, but national design experts say the architecture and decor at this casual Italian restaurant are just as impressive. The Salt Lake City restaurant, at 418 E. 200 South, was recently awarded second place in a contest sponsored by Design Within Reach, an online furniture and design site. A panel of judges rated each entry on a scale from 1 to 10 for innovation, honesty, timelessness and approachability.

Salt Lake magazine presented its 12th Annual Dining Awards to Utah restaurants on Tuesday, February 23. Chefs and restaurateurs from throughout the state attended the gala awards event, held at Utah Museum of Fine Arts. A celebration of Utah food and flavors, the evening’s menu was conceived and prepared by Cuisine Unlimited, with wines from Southern Wine & Spirits and Libation.
